This page explains the small files (cookies) ScootBooks stores in your browser, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember things like your login session, your preferences, and basic usage information.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • Authentication session — keeps you signed in to your ScootBooks dashboard. Without this cookie, the app cannot work.
  • Security tokens — protect against forged requests and account takeover.

Analytics (anonymous)

  • We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count anonymous pageviews and understand which sections of the marketing site are useful. We do not build advertising profiles and do not share this data with third-party advertisers.

3. We do not use advertising cookies

ScootBooks does not run advertising and does not place tracking pixels from Facebook, Google Ads, or similar networks on this site.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies from your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in to your ScootBooks dashboard.

5. Questions?

Email info@scootbooks.co.za and we’ll happily explain anything that isn’t clear.
